The Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Planning and Housing has completed the road surface reinforcement works on a section of the A-352 road from Cuevas del Almanzora to Garrucha, which was in a very deteriorated state.
The territorial delegate of this Regional Ministry, Dolores Martínez, pointed out that 404,450 euros were invested in the work, which forms part of the Annual Road Maintenance Investment Programme in the province of Almería.
The need for the work was detected by the Territorial Delegation’s conservation monitoring services and the work was carried out during the second half of September to the first week of October.

Specifically, work has been carried out on a section which runs from kilometre point 0+000 to 3+350 and which is included in the intersection with the AL-8104 road, the access road to Palomares, owned by the Almeria Provincial Council. A total of 5,152 tonnes of bituminous concrete AC22 surfacing were used.
For the execution of the works, the work area was cut off and traffic was regulated by signalling personnel, in accordance with the Ministry of Development’s mobile works signalling instructions. The necessary surfaces were milled to create the joints and the most damaged sections where the road surface was completely worn out.
Subsequently, an asphalt emulsion type ECR-1 was applied, used for tack coatings, and hot asphalt agglomerate asphalt was paved with bitumen type B35/50. The bituminous mix was spread by pre-profiling in the areas where the road was being rehabilitated, and then the complete wearing course was paved. Finally, the road markings were painted.
