The ‘rave’ of Fuente Álamo will end up having its judicial side. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened proceedings after receiving a complaint signed by the vice-president and regional councillor for the Interior, Emergencies and Territorial Planning, José Ángel Antelo, regarding the illegal party that was held from 31 December to 5 January at the Fuente Álamo circuit. The complaint, as explained by the senior prosecutor, José Luis Díaz Manzanera, during an event, reached the Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday and is directed against the Government Delegation, the Fuente Álamo Town Hall and a regional deputy of Podemos.
The document, which points to the commission of an alleged offence of the duty to prosecute crimes and another against the environment, is already in the hands of the prosecutor in charge. This representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, explained Díaz Manzanera, will now have to decide whether to file the complaint or to continue with the investigation by taking some steps. «It could be that the case is opened and then shelved at the same time, if there is no evidence of a crime,» she explained. «If there are any indications, it is normal that we will carry out some proceedings and then take a decision based on the results.
On 5 January Antelo presented two requests for the suspension of the illegal rave in Fuente Alamo, which, according to data handled by the Community, came to congregate more than 8,000 people. In both requests, one addressed to the Government Delegation and the other to the Town Hall of the town, the vice-president asked for the suspension of the activities that were taking place in accordance with the Law of Emergencies and Civil Protection of the Region. «We have requested in two requests that the law be applied once and for all,» explained the vice-president. «It cannot be that in one part of the Region the law is not applied».

The delegate of the Government, María Dolores Guevara, had already explained that, for security reasons, the eviction of the macro-party would only be carried out if its attendees exceeded the planned duration – on 6 January, which they did – «Evicting such a large number of vehicles and people is going to generate an even greater conflict», she stressed. «Therefore, what was decided by the professionals of the Guardia Civil and Local Police was to prevent its expansion and to make a control. An eviction on such a scale is unfeasible because of the great conflict that this could provoke».
