The Albox Town Hall is calling on all Carnival lovers to take part in this year’s Carnival which will be held on Saturday 3rd February. This is the date chosen to experience one of the most eagerly awaited festivities by the people of Albox. Groups of friends and families who choose an original costume, children who live a day of emotions with their classmates and where fun and smiles are guaranteed.
The area of culture has opened the registration period for all those who want to participate in the Carnival Parade 2024 that will start from the Plaza San Francisco, in the Barrio de La Loma and, after going through the main streets of the municipality, will arrive at the Water and Health Centre to celebrate a great carnival party.
«We want to bring back the local groups and troupes, to enjoy the originality that has always characterised the Albox carnival,» explains the mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso, at the presentation of the poster.
«This year we wanted the culmination of the carnival parade to have a space for groups who want to perform, and where during the night there will be music with DJ’s and a bar provided by the leisure establishments of the municipality. We will have a big carnival party at the Water and Health Centre with children’s rides and food stalls throughout the area,» he added.
The Town Hall has made an effort and grants will be given to cover part of the costs to the participating groups. In addition, the competition is endowed with more than 1700 euros in prizes. The winners will receive 500 euros for the most original costume and best show in adults, 250 euros for the largest group. In the children’s category they will receive 150 euros for the most original costume and best show and 100 euros for the largest group.
For those groups from outside the municipality who decide to visit the Albox carnival and sign up for the competition, they will be eligible for a prize of 500 euros for the most original costume and best show and 250 euros for the largest group who want to share the carnival party with the people of Albox.
Registrations must be made at the Town Hall of Albox, in its Culture area, both in person and via WhatsApp, on the telephone number 664 35 68 68 43.
Groups that have not registered in advance will not receive a subsidy, nor will they be eligible for any prize.
