The Andalusian Regional Government has once again increased funding for local councils in the province of Almeria, which in 2024 will have more than 54 million euros in unconditional funding or Patrica (Participation in the Taxes of the Autonomous Community).
The territorial delegate of Economy, Finance and European Funds, Guillermo Casquet, has pointed out that specifically there will be 54,172,197 euros, compared to 52,903,428 in 2023, which represents an increase of 1,268,768 euros. The Andalusian Administration thus maintains the growth path reflected since 2019.
Casquet states that this fact, in addition to boosting the capacity of the municipalities of the province, «shows that the Government of Juanma Moreno acts with facts so that all municipalities have the necessary resources to offer quality services to their neighbours».

«The regional government’s commitment to the municipalities is being demonstrated, as the allocation of the participation in the Patrica has experienced a significant increase in the last six years, exceeding 180 million euros at Andalusian level, «increasing the allocations for our municipalities and changing the previous socialist policy of freezing the participation in the taxes of the Autonomous Community,» said the delegate.
He also recalled that between 2012 and 2018, «before the arrival of the current president of the Junta, the Patrica was frozen, without increasing anything at all». «On the other hand, from 2019 until now it has been growing every year, with the exception of 2022, when PSOE and IU voted against it and prevented it. Fortunately, this year they will not be able to prevent the local councils from having more resources».
The delegate also referred to the 2024 Municipal Cooperation Plan (PCM) of the Andalusian Regional Government, which for the sixth year has also been increased, reaching 2,113 million euros. «The increase in the PCM allocation has been 970 million since Moreno became president of the Junta, almost a billion, 85.2% more than in 2018. These are facts».
