Next Sunday 25th February the Certamen de Chirigotas returns to Albox. A municipality with a long history in this tradition, and whose neighbours were asking for it to be brought back. Even more so with the Chirigota del Soto, which in recent years has become one of the most important groups in the north of the province.
Fulfilling the commitment made, the Town Hall of Albox, together with the members of the Chirigota del Soto, has organised the Certamen de Chirigotas 2024 to be held on the last Sunday of February in the Centro de Agua y Salud at 18:00.
The poster has meant that, in the last few weeks, tickets for the event have been snapped up by a large number of local residents.
The Chirigota del Bizcocho will participate with their show ‘La última y nos vamos’. A group that will come from San José de la Rinconada after participating in the Cádiz Carnival Competition and winning fourth prize last year with ‘Los mi alma’. It is, for experts in the carnival world, one of the great carnival groups of the moment.
As it is in our province and especially in the Almanzora, the Chirigota del Soto, whose members are mostly from Albox, official criers of the Feria de Todos los Santos de Albox 2023.
The Chirigota del Soto returned to Cádiz this year, but this time to take to the stage of the Gran Teatro Falla. And this February they are performing in numerous competitions in Almería and other neighbouring provinces with their show ‘El Planeta de los Litios’.
There are still a few tickets left to enjoy the Certamen de Agrupaciones de Carnaval Albox 2024. The event will also be a charity event, as part of the proceeds will be donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Cultural Department of the Albox Town Hall and at the Soto Sports Centre.

Tickets cost 7 euros in advance, and 10 euros at the box office on the day of the event, until full capacity is reached.
