
After fourteen years, the municipality of Albox returned this Sunday to experience its Processional March Contest. It was the fifth edition of a brotherly event that was once one of the pioneers in the north of the province and this year has returned with a massive influx of public.
The Banda Municipal de Música de Albox acted as host and was in charge of closing the event which took place in the Centro de Agua y Salud. The event was opened shortly after 12 noon by the Agrupación Musical María Santísima de la Estrella from Granada, followed by the Agrupación Musical Virgen de la Amargura from Lorca.
A meeting organised by the local brotherhoods and the town council of Albox, which brought together some five hundred people on a sunny Sunday morning.

Each of the participating bands received a traditional dish from Alfarería Los Puntas as a gift.
Albox musician Pedro Alejandro, who is currently a member of the Agrupación Musical María Santísima de la Estrella de Granada, also played with the Banda de Música de Albox, where he took his first steps in music.
«We committed ourselves to recovering the Certamen de Marchas Procesionales and now, after fourteen years, Albox will once again enjoy a unique event for lovers of cofrade music. The Town Hall is at the disposal of the five brotherhoods, and all together, we will continue to make our Semana Santa great» assured the Mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso.
