The workers of the Albox Health Centre have called off their mobilisations after two Wednesdays concentrating at the doors of the medical centre to demand the resumption of the extension works and, at the same time, solutions to the numerous inconveniences and problems that these works are generating for both professionals and users of the medical centre.
A return to normality is the result of meetings held by the Delegate for Health, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, both with representatives of the workers and with the Mayor of the municipality, María del Mar Alfonso, who has closely followed the demands of the workers and last Monday held the last meeting with the head of the Andalusian Regional Government.
«From the Town Hall we are in contact with the workers of our health centre, and since the works began we are very aware of these works. I have met personally with the workers and with the Delegate of Health in Almería. He has assured me that he understands and shares our demands. The delegate has promised to do everything in his power to minimise the impact of the works on the work of our health workers and to ensure that the residents are attended to in the best possible conditions,» said the mayoress of Albox.

«The Town Hall and the Health Delegation will work hand in hand to ensure that the works are resumed at the right pace and that the works can be completed on schedule, by August 2024. Work like this, while the workers are working at the same time, generates inconveniences, but I am sure they will be minimised. The company awarded the contract must fulfil the contract and take into account the needs of the workers,» concludes Alfonso.
