Cantoria 2017 travelled to Jaén this Sunday, where they played a match in Begijar in which they lacked luck and once again lacked defensive strength.
The Almanzora team were always ahead on the scoreboard, with Capel scoring the first goal with a great header in the 4th minute.
The game was controlled by the visitors, but what seemed to be a serious injury to Luchi’s knee, left the team somewhat shaken and it was in the 24th minute when the referee invented a penalty in favour of the locals. Abdou was kicked by the player from Jaén, but the referee incomprehensibly booked the Cantorian. Jacob made it 1-1 at half-time.

The second half was exciting, after 5 minutes Castillejo scored the 1-2, but the joy was short-lived as Quiles in a one-on-one with Alberto scored the second equaliser of the match.
Cantoria did not give up and continued to look for the victory, having clear chances. Capel missed a penalty (the fifth penalty given in favour of the Aurinegros this season and none of them were converted). Reche’s left-footed shot from outside the area hit the post, but it was Paco Gómez who put Cantoria back in front; 2-3 with 20 minutes to go.
Begijar did not give up and it was in the 86th minute when Javi Cañada, unmarked from a side cross, shot alone at the far post to make it 3-3.
The referee added 8 minutes where the home team searched for the victory, but in the end the points were shared.
Cantoria lost two points which in the end could have been three, but there was an improvement in attitude compared to other games. Now it remains to make good this point with a victory next Sunday at 12.00 when they host Polideportivo Almería in the provincial derby at the Los Olivos municipal stadium.
