The delegate of the Spanish Government in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, today visited the municipalities of Serón and Zurgena, where he saw «how the European Next Generation EU funds are reaching every corner of Andalusia through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan designed by the State, which is transforming life in rural areas, promoting sustainable actions, locating market niches and recovering spaces for citizens». In parallel to the new actions launched, Pedro Fernández explained that «the Government of Spain continues to develop the actions programmed in each locality», such as the works of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme, such as the one started in the municipality of Serón last October to replace the paving with cobblestones in Chorrillo Street, where all the installations are also being replaced and used for the underground installation of natural gas.

Another example of actions financed with Next Generation EU funds is the rehabilitation of the flour mill in Zurgena, a building that will receive 650,350 euros through aid from the Programme to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings for local entities, as well as co-financing from the Provincial Council of Almeria in the amount of 140,000 euros for economic assistance for cultural promotion. All the actions included in the overall rehabilitation of the building will achieve a Type A energy efficiency building, with a reduction of more than 30% and almost zero consumption.
