The Firemen’s Association of Levante Almeriense have gone to the paediatric area to visit the children in hospital and donated three fire engines for their use while they have to stay in the hospital during these special days.
These trucks are automatic and can be steered by the parents of the children in hospital or by the children themselves, if they are a little older. They also have a built-in bluetooth music system, sirens and are also equipped with lights for emergencies.
The trucks have been decorated by the firefighters themselves with all the emblems, shields and anagrams so that they are as close as possible to the ones they use. They have also devised a special system for attaching a hitch to them so that they can be used by everyone without any impediment to their use.

At the Hospital de la Inmaculada in Huercal-Overa they were welcomed by the Health Delegate, Juan de la Cruz; the Manager of the Hospital de la Inmaculada, José Miguel Medina; the Management Team and healthcare staff from the paediatric service, who thanked them for their generosity towards the children in hospital and their parents, an appointment they never fail to keep both at Christmas and throughout the year.
For their part, the members of the Consorcio de Bomberos del Levante Almeriense are very pleased to have been able to resume this visit which they do not miss at any Christmas, except for the obligatory ones due to confinement, and to have managed to bring joy and smiles to the sick and their parents, making them forget the hospital routine even if it is only for a morning, one of the objectives which, for years, they have fulfilled at this time of the year.
An endearing gesture by the Levante Almeriense Fire Brigade team which, together with other initiatives such as collaboration with different NGOs, sporting events, etc., expresses their proximity and their desire to be in contact with the citizens.
The important work that the firefighters carry out in our society, they take a step further in their commitment to solidarity and help, carrying out this type of initiative.
