The province of Almeria closes its Easter Week with an average occupancy rate of 72.5%, below the Andalusian average of 83%.
The president of the Almanzora tourism entrepreneurs, Luis Aurelio Pérez Tapia, assures that the rural accommodation in the Almanzora Valley has had a 90% occupancy rate during these holidays, surpassing these figures even those of the years prior to the pandemic, during which time the number of beds has doubled in relation to previous years.
For its part, the return to normality after Covid has also been noticed in the hospitality industry, which has benefited from the enjoyment of the people in the streets of our towns, in bars and restaurants during this Easter Week 2023, also favoured by the good weather prevailing during the long weekend.
Despite the data indicating a reduction in average spending per tourist and a general decline in consumption at national level, Luis Aurelio assures that in the Almanzora region and in rural tourism «it has not been noticed that people who come have spent less than before».
As for the bus tourism that used to travel through our villages, it has not yet recovered, although little by little the figures are improving and we are still working to be able to recover that movement and achieve the good precovid data.
The president of the tourist businessmen assures that, «there are great tourist expectations for May and the summer months according to all the forecasts».
