The Regional Government of Andalusia, through the Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Planning and Housing, has opened the deadline for submitting applications for the call for rental subsidies for people who are in a particularly vulnerable situation. Specifically, on 28 October, the Resolution of 24 October 2022, of the General Secretariat for Housing, was published in the BOJA (Official Gazette of Andalusia), which calls for rental aid for people who are in a particularly vulnerable situation. As explained by the territorial delegate, Carmen Belén López, 900,000 euros corresponds to the province of Almería and will benefit approximately 300 families».
The delegate stressed that «these grants, on a non-competitive basis, provide a quick housing solution for homeless people, victims of gender violence, victims of eviction from their usual home, victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and other families in a situation of special vulnerability accredited by the social services or the corresponding local administration and who have difficulties in paying the rent».
He also stressed that through this aid «many of the families who are having the hardest time due to the rise in inflation will be able to have some respite in their economy» and recalled that this aid is in addition to the three calls for rental aid made by the Regional Ministry of Development last year for a total of 90 million euros.

These lines of aid are part of the Plan Vive en Andalucía 2020-2030, one of the pillars of which is to tackle residential vulnerability by means of aid for rent payments. To this end, programmes have been designed that establish two lines of collaboration: this call for aid to individuals and a line of collaboration with third sector entities that work in the field of housing, channelling aid for the payment of up to one hundred percent of the rent.
For this call, eligible expenses may be allocated between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2023. The applicant will determine the start and end dates of the action, bearing in mind that the subsidy must not exceed 6,000 euros or 500 euros per month, including community expenses. Beneficiaries will receive one hundred percent of the grant in a single payment.
The deadline for submission of applications began yesterday, 20 January, and ends on 31 May 2023.
