The Hospital La Inmaculada of the North Health Management Area of Almeria has incorporated two new high-precision ultrasound scanners in the Clinical Management Unit (CMU) of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the health centre. The equipment has been installed in the obstetrics consulting room and in the emergency room of this hospital unit, which means an improvement in clinical imaging, as well as greater efficiency and productivity.
The regional delegate for Health and Consumer Affairs, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, pointed out that this new equipment offers extraordinary image quality as well as advanced foetal assessment tools. «This translates into improvements in all senses. Both in terms of diagnosis, precision and, in short, in patient care». Belmonte stressed the «commitment and commitment of the Andalusian Regional Government to improve the equipment with the best technologies for users of the public health system in the province of Almeria». «Especially in this regional hospital in Huércal-Overa, which in recent years has undergone significant progress».
Juan de la Cruz Belmonte highlighted the investment of more than three million euros which has meant «that the La Inmaculada Hospital has for the first time in its history an MRI scanner, two latest generation CAT scans, a top-of-the-range echocardiography unit, as well as new portable ultrasound scanners».

The Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit of the regional hospital of Huércal-Overa performs more than 20,000 ultrasound scans a year, of which around 5,000 tests are carried out in the emergency room of this service.
