The Northern Health Management Area of Almeria, under the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) reinforces from next April 1st the Primary Care Emergency Service (SUAP) of the Albox Health Centre, with a new medical team in continuous care hours between 15.00 and 08.00 hours from Monday to Friday and 24 hours during weekends and holidays.
The manager of the SAS, Diego Vargas, stressed that «this is a new resource that aims to provide urgent care in line with the needs and expectations of citizens, expanding the response to the urgent demand of the population, improving the efficiency of the public health service with a second team, so that there will always be two in emergency hours.
The new medical team «improves accessibility, the perception of safety and the intensity of care for the population, in the case of urgent demand, as well as increasing the response capacity in an effective way by boosting the flow of patients and enabling the development of alternative circuits,» said Vargas. The SAS also provides this resource to the health centre with the aim of improving the portfolio of services offered to the population by providing more care to residents and thus diversifying the response of the health system that meets the needs of patients and their families.

The SUAP of the Albox Health Centre will also advance in the development of the competencies of its professionals in order to respond with the highest quality to the health problems of the population of this municipality in the east of Almeria, improving the care received in a personalised way.
