Agents of the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Almeria, belonging to the Investigation Group (G.I.A.T), became aware of the appearance of a video, published on the social network INSTAGRAM, in which it was observed how the driver of a high-end vehicle, driving on the A-7 motorway towards Granada, was holding the steering wheel with his knees while rolling a cigarette with both hands, all while being recorded by two other people who accompanied him boasting about it.
After a study and analysis of the images, it was possible to determine the exact location of the filming, the date of the events, 16 April 2023, as well as the full identification of the driver and passengers travelling in the vehicle, residents of Roquetas de Mar and Almería city respectively.
After being identified the person allegedly driving the vehicle and after being shown the video by the agents, he acknowledged the authorship of the facts, as well as the publication of the images on social networks.
The facts have been brought to the attention of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Almeria, and the images and steps taken have been sent to open a disciplinary case for a very serious infringement of the General Traffic Regulations for Reckless Driving, as the driver’s conduct clearly and specifically endangered the occupants of the vehicle and the other users who were travelling on the A-7 motorway at the time.
