The plenary session approves the reversion of the CTAP back to municipal assets.
The project for the construction of the new building for the Associations of the municipality with an investment of 1.3 million euros is also approved.
The Macael Town Council has approved in plenary session, held this Tuesday, the first step to materialize the new ‘Macael Marble Business Centre’. It is one of the projects advanced in campaign by the government team and that just a month after the beginning of the new legislature, has approved in plenary session the reversion of the Andalusian Technological Centre of Stone (CTAP).

«Today is an important day. The first stone is laid for a project that seeks to project the image of Macael, increase employment, the number of companies and self-employed Macael» said the spokesperson for the government team, Ana Casquet.
The town council ceded this space in 1998 to the Junta de Andalucía for the construction of the CTAP, a building that has been closed for too long, after a disastrous management by the regional administration. That is why the Town Hall has proposed to recover the building, with more than 5,000 square metres, so that it can become a building that attracts companies and organisations that generate employment and wealth in the town.
«The building will be called the Macael Marble Business Centre and it will be a great opportunity for Macael. We have already had contact with the Junta to make the return. We are working so that non-profit organisations, the UAL and companies that generate income and employment in our municipality can move in,» says the Mayor of Macael, Raúl Martínez.
The imposing building at the entrance of the town will be filled with life, that is the intention of the government team. «We have to get that building, because we can continue to provide opportunities for new entrepreneurs to bring wealth and life to the town. That building has great value, and we want it to form part of the municipality’s heritage so that the residents can take advantage of it. It is one of our commitments and we are going to fulfil it», concluded the mayor.
Approval of the project for the Rehabilitation of the ‘Casas de Los Maestros’ to convert it into a modern building for the Associations of Macael.
Item 7 on the agenda of the ordinary plenary session held on 18 July in the Town Hall of Macael, has approved the Energy Rehabilitation Project and change of use to administrative building for the building located in Seville Street, better known as the «Casas de Los Maestros».
This is one of the subsidies that the Macael Town Council has obtained from European funds Next Generation EU, through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, worth 1.3 million euros.
The building also known as ‘Edificio Calle Sevilla’ will become a modern building after the execution of this project. «We have succeeded in converting a building from the 1960s, which was used as teachers’ housing and is currently used by three associations, into an energy-sustainable building. We are going to transform it, with spaces that will accommodate all the town’s associations, groups and rehearsal rooms… In total there will be 14 perfectly usable, modern, new, air-conditioned rooms with lifts. It will be a before and after for the associations of Macael» assured Raúl Martínez during the plenary session.
