The Territorial Delegate for Development, Territorial Coordination and Housing, Dolores Martínez, has visited the start of the works for the «replacement of the wearing course on the A-334 road». The works are to be carried out at junction 63, located in the municipality of Cantoria.
Martínez explained that «the work will attempt to repair the deformations in the road surface of the roundabouts at the junction, which have been caused by traffic over the years since it was put into service and which were hindering road safety conditions for road traffic». The delegate also added that «on the exit and entrance branches to the A-334 dual carriageway, known as the Almanzora, these deformations have occurred to a lesser extent and some exudations that may be the beginning of problems with the bearing capacity of the road surface, that is, its resistance to deformation, and its durability». «Hence the importance of starting these works now».
The Territorial Development Delegation has detailed that «a 5 cm milling of the existing road surface of the affected roundabouts and branches is being carried out. Subsequently, a hot bituminous concrete mix type AC22 surf B 35/50 S will be manufactured and spread». Finally, the horizontal signage will be replaced with the application of paint on the necessary road markings. «These works have an investment of 107,570 euros and will last approximately three weeks», according to the Development delegate.
