San Javier hosts one of the only two concerts of the young and prestigious Honduran orchestra that will offer a repertoire of Latin American composers

The church of San Francisco Javier, in San Javier, will host the concert of the San Pedro Sula Philharmonic Orchestra next Saturday, November 11 at 8 p.m., in which it will be one of the only two concerts that the Honduran musical group will offer in Spain . The young orchestra, founded in 2017 by its chief conductor, Oscar Barahona, has in a short time become a reference for orchestras in Central America. The Orchestra, which has had special guests such as musicians from the Munich and Berlin Philharmonics, will have only two performances in Spain and another two in Rome.

The concert, organized by the Department of Culture of the San Javier City Council, through the San Javier Conservatory of Music, will feature the participation of the Chilean tenor, León de la Guardia and directed by Oscar Barahona. The program will include works for chamber orchestra belonging to the Latin American academic repertoire with scores by Honduran, Mexican, Argentine, Venezuelan and Cuban composers.
