The Íbero Museum in Jaén hosted the Andalucía Joven 2023 awards gala this Friday, awarded by the Regional Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality through the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ). A total of 13 groups, entities and individuals from the autonomous community representing the eight Andalusian provinces were recognised. These are honorary awards, which recognise work, dedication, personal involvement and commitment to the development of Andalusian youth.
The honorary mention of «Youth Municipality of the Year» has been shared by Cabra (Córdoba) and Purchena, for their commitment to youth with recreational and educational activities throughout the year.
Purchena was named Youth Municipality in 2005, since then it has been a fundamental axis in terms of youth (development of European volunteer and exchange programmes, cultural, sports and employment activities and operation of the Youth Information Centre which is a qualified multiplier of the Eurodesk Network), also collaborating with the Andalusian Youth Institute.
