Cosentino’s headquarters hosted the presentation of its «Recovering the South» project in the province of Almeria on Wednesday. Just a week after unveiling it in Madrid, the Executive Vice-President of the multinational, Pilar Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso, once again played host to an event with mayors, different social agents from the province and young people with roots in Almeria, ready to listen, because they are considering returning to their homeland.
Cosentino wants to identify and make a call to young and not so young people, who once had to move to other cities to study or start their professional career and today are willing to continue their professional and personal project in their homeland with the company Cosentino.
Pilar Martínez-Cosentino Alfonso explained the corporate purpose and values of the company. «We believe in a company model that has a soul, a company that, beyond having a profit and loss account, is committed to and truly believes in what it does. Because a company is a group of people who fight and dream every day for a purpose,» said Cosentino’s Executive Vice-President, convinced that «the companies that make a difference are those in which the whole team, in addition to knowledge, puts their attitude and heart into it. Cosentino’s purpose is to design with meaning to inspire people’s lives. But also to do it in a very special way, something that has distinguished us since our origins, which is to do it by committing ourselves to our land. At the same time as the company evolves, so do our towns, our region, our province and our country».

This week’s event in the Almanzora region served to raise awareness of the company itself, and at the same time to share the case of other young people, now employees of the company, who once recovered the south. Laura, Piedad, Fede, Paco Robles, Head of Human Resources of Cosentino or Pilar Martínez Cosentino herself, all of them work today in Cantoria, but before arriving here they have been in places like Singapore, Barcelona, Granada, Málaga, San Francisco or Madrid.
All of them are now working in Cantoria in departments such as Marketing, Accounts or Human Resources, and their testimonies are the best example of what it means to «recover the south». Being able to enjoy your family, your affections, your roots, and «a job and a company that makes you feel at home, a feeling of belonging that you can breathe from minute one» assured Fede, a young lawyer from Granada who, after several jobs and different countries, now lives in Macael and is the father of two children in the Almanzora region.
Among the audience, young people from Laroya, Sierro, Macael, Antas or Vera, to name just a few of those who responded to this first call of a project that seeks to attract those young people who once left the province of Almeria to study, work in what they studied or simply live a different experience. Profiles such as architects, engineers and designers are just some of the professionals who may have a place in Cosentino.
Recovering the south makes more sense today than ever. If we want to have a future, it is essential to settle the population, to make our towns an attractive place to live and with professional possibilities, and Cosentino has a lot to say in this respect.
