This April, the Albox Town Council has begun to implement the municipal Asphalting Plan which will improve numerous streets and roads which have been very deteriorated for years. Streets in the centre of the town and also in the districts will have a new surface and improve the safety of citizens.
Intersections such as Calle Salitre with Calle Arrabal, where traffic has been rearranged and the road surface has been repaired, in addition to road markings which have changed the configuration of the road. The work has made it possible to remove the traffic lights and make the area, which is close to the health centre and schools in the municipality, safer.
The pedanías have also been included in the work plan which will be carried out throughout the month of April. This is the case of the Camino de La Hortichuela, where they will have new road surfaces.
Calle Salvador de Madariaga, Málaga, Roma, General Alvear, crossing at Calle Lepanto, and Calle Nacimiento. All these areas of the municipality have been included in the work plan that the company Nila is carrying out with a budget of 53,456 euros, financed with its own funds.
This week the mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso, together with the councillor for works, Esteban Carrión, has toured some of the completed roads and has been able to check the execution of the work. «This asphalting plan that we are carrying out will allow us to improve the maintenance and condition of the streets in the worst condition in our town. We made a study of the most urgent actions, and we have started there. We know there is a lot to do and the residents need to know that we are going to continue improving streets. Giving safety and order to traffic throughout the municipality», concludes Alfonso.
