The Association of Friends of the Baza Region Railway, representing the railway collectives of the southeast peninsular, has been present at the event «Business Breakfast» that has taken place in Baza organised by the Association of Businessmen of the Altiplano of Granada, with the participation of businessmen from the provinces of Granada and Almeria, and with the outstanding presence of Gerardo Cuerva, state president of CEPYME.
In this event, Antonio Francisco Martínez, president of Amigos del Ferrocarril Comarca de Baza, has exposed the need to reopen the railway line Guadix Baza Almanzora Lorca, not only to improve the connectivity of these regions emptied, but to be profitable in socio-economic terms.
Moreover, it is an infrastructure that directly affects twelve regions spread over three provinces and two autonomous communities, which would be relatively cheap to build and which could even receive European funding of up to 80%.

That is why he has asked Gerardo Cuerva that the interaction, support and business support for this cause in the regions of the old railway line in the southeast should be extended to business organisations and leaders at regional and national level. Their pressure on policy makers can be decisive in achieving the return of the train.
