The Andalusian Regional Government invests 262,000 euros in the repair of the Los Alamos de Oria road.

The delegate of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Antonio Mena, has visited the works currently underway on the rural road Los Alamos, where about 262,000 euros are being invested under the Plan Itínere. During the visit, in which he was accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Marcos Reche and the deputy mayor Antonio Torrente, the delegate stressed “the commitment of the Ministry with the improvement of the rural environment, especially that which affects farmers in the province”.

This road has an investment of 261,697.04 euros and a length of 3,264 metres. Among the actions carried out to improve the road are “the replacement of the road surface, signposting, the construction of crossings, concrete slabs, the laying of gravel and the asphalting of the road is being completed”. The work began on 26 June 2023 and the deadline is 30 June 2024. The work is part of the Itínere II Plan.

Antonio Mena stressed “the importance for the agricultural sector of having rural roads in the best conditions and has highlighted the value of the Plan Itínere formula whereby the municipalities do not have to contribute any percentage of investment, this being borne entirely by the Junta de Andalucía”.

In addition, Mena stressed that “the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development, with Carmen Crespo at the head, has given a major boost to the Andalusian Rural Road Improvement Plan (Plan Itínere), in competitive tendering for all municipalities in Andalusia, where the Ministry subsidises 100% of the expenditure and is also responsible for all the administrative processing of the projects”. Mena added that in this way “the municipalities do not have to make any financial contribution. Likewise, the Andalusian administration is in charge of drafting the projects and carrying out the works, which not only relieves the financial pressure on the local councils, but also eases their administrative and workload”.
