A resident of Tíjola has reported the mayor of Somontín, Luis Francisco Reche, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of ill-treatment without injury, after he allegedly grabbed his minor son by the shoulder and told him that he was going to put him in jail.
The father of the six-year-old boy, speaking to La Comarca Noticias, said that that day his little boy arrived crying at the bar where he was sitting with another person, saying that “the village chief had grabbed him by the shoulder and threatened to put him in jail.”
The little boy, according to his father’s account, was playing with other children at that time.

According to the complaint to which La Comarca Noticias has had access
The complainant’s son arrived at around 11:45 p.m. on August 16 at the Somontín square where his father was «crying, shaking and urinating on himself.»
The complainant told the police that when he asked his son what had happened, he told him that the mayor of Somontín had grabbed him by the shoulder while telling him that he was going to report him and put him in jail.
The alleged reason for this attitude on the part of the councillor was that the minor had supposedly knocked on the door of his home, as reflected in the complaint, which also states that the boy is in a “state of anxiety” and does not want to go out into the street out of fear.
This Tuesday morning, due to the child’s nervous state, his parents took him to the Tíjola Health Centre and from there he was sent to the Baza hospital.
“He vomits, has trouble sleeping and is constantly on edge,” his father told this newspaper. “They can’t give him medication because he’s only six years old, so now we have to wait for his progress over the next two weeks,” said his father, worried about his son’s health.
The complaint was filed at the Civil Guard detachment in Tíjola and according to the statement of the complainant, the minor’s father, he and the mayor know each other from working at the Tíjola Town Hall. There are no witnesses to the alleged events or injury reports, since the minor, according to the complaint, suffers from episodes of fear and anxiety.
We at La Comarca Noticias have tried to contact the mayor of Somontín, but have received no response.
