In view of the call for a strike by the General Union of Workers (UGT) and Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) for the 19th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th and 30th of September, Verificaciones Industriales de Andalucía SA (VEIASA), an entity attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines, wishes to inform you of the measures it is taking to minimise the inconvenience to users who may be affected.
- Direct communication: In order to avoid unnecessary travel, VEIASA has sent a cancellation SMS to users whose appointments could be affected by the strike, informing them of the situation.
- Rescheduling of appointments: VEIASA will contact users to reschedule their appointments as soon as possible so that all cancelled ITVs are rescheduled as soon as possible.
- Minimum services: The General Directorate of Work, Safety and Occupational Health of the Ministry of Employment, Business and Self-Employment has established minimum services equivalent to approximately 15% of the total staff of inspectors and 45% of the administrative staff. This means one inspector and one administrative staff per shift in a universal inspection line (all vehicles except motorcycles) at each ITV station.
The competent body establishes the following priorities when carrying out inspections:
1. Vehicles providing ambulance or other medical services; vehicles of any fire brigade; vehicles assigned to security forces and bodies, and vehicles authorized for the public transport of people.
2. Vehicles that must undergo a technical inspection to verify the correction of defects detected in a previous inspection.
3. Vehicles whose periodic MOT has expired or will expire on the days of the strike and which already had an appointment scheduled.
- Certification for affected users: If a user with an appointment goes to the station and cannot carry out the inspection, they may request a cancellation certificate, which will be valid to justify the situation before the authorities if necessary.
- Bonus maintenance: The planned bonuses will not be affected by this incident, since the date of the cancelled appointment will be maintained as a reference.
