The Provincial Council of Almeria is once again launching its programme within the framework of the Sports and Youth Area of the Institution to bring the water parks of Vera, Aquavera, and Mario Park in Roquetas de Mar, the Archena spa and the Pulpí geode to the people of Almeria in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants during the summer.
Small municipalities in the province can participate in this initiative so that their residents can enjoy it. This year the inhabitants of 72 municipalities have joined this proposal and it is estimated that, once the programme concludes, more than 4,500 people from Almeria will have taken part in it this summer.
The acting deputy for Sports and Youth, José Antonio García, recently accompanied residents of the municipalities of María and Somontín in a day that took place in the Aquatic Park of Vera, Aquavera, where participants were able to enjoy these facilities with the realization of different activities.

In this sense, the deputy stressed that «this programme allows the smaller inland municipalities to offer their neighbours an interesting activity to enjoy the water parks, a spa or the natural jewel that is the Geoda de Pulpí. And all this with the aim of promoting cohesion between municipalities, the knowledge of the province with recreational and sporting activities that convey a clear message in favour of physical activity as a healthy lifestyle habit».
The Provincial Institution signs annual agreements with the water parks of Vera and Roquetas de Mar, the Archena spa and the Pulpí Geode. The aim of these agreements is to carry out recreational and sporting activities in these spaces that are included in the Almería Activa URBAC Programme, through the Town Councils that adhere to the «Project Assistance to Municipal Sports Action Plans».
