More than 12,000 Almerians from all corners of the province gathered peacefully today in the Plaza de la Constitución in Almería to say loud and clear to the acting Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, that they do not agree with the privilege, impunity and amnesty that he promotes in his pact with Junts and that goes against equality, dignity, justice, coexistence and diversity.
In front of a square full of families, as well as the surrounding streets, and in a festive but at the same time vindictive atmosphere, the president of the Partido Popular of Almería, Javier A. García, pointed out that «Spain is a nation with centuries of history that has never been silent and will never be silent in the face of inequality and that has always known how to overcome difficulties».
Javier A García recalled that 45 years ago, Spaniards massively approved a Constitution on which a democracy of free and equal citizens was built, based on unity and plurality, with public authorities subject to the law and the rule of law.

«We became an example throughout the world. And we will be again with this firm and calm reaction of the Spanish people to the attack on our Magna Carta, the division of powers and the very foundations of our democracy,» he said.
The president of the PP has denounced the fact that Pedro Sánchez, after losing the elections and with the sole intention of perpetuating himself in power, has put himself «at the forefront of the independence movement that seeks to defeat the State, break equality between Spaniards, muzzle judges and prosecutors and humiliate our country».
In this sense, he warned that «they are selling the freedom and equality of Spaniards and they do it as criminals usually do: by hiding, hiding, deceiving», to then denounce that «the governability of our country has been decided outside our country. They have gone outside Spain in their attempt to destroy Spanish democracy. They do not show their faces».
Javier A. García made it clear that all those present today in the Plaza de la Constitución in Almería are not hiding. «We do not get down on our knees in front of those who hate democracy. Nor do we go far away, but we go out into the streets and squares of our nation, proud of our democracy, proud of our judges, of our police, of our citizens, of our Constitution. Proud of Spain», he warned emphatically.
The PP president also insisted that in the face of the division promoted by Pedro Sánchez, Spanish society is united, and pointed out that those who today look the other way and do nothing, even though they are aware of the seriousness of the attack, will regret in the future having been accomplices, with their passivity at a key moment in our history.
«Do we want to live in this broken and unequal Spain that they have agreed to far from Spain? Do we want such a nation for our children? No. We want freedom, equality and coexistence to continue to mark our horizon», he insisted. For this reason, Javier A. García pointed out that the PP is going to fight against impunity.
«We will do so in the institutions, in the parliaments, in the courts of justice, in the European Union and, yes, also in the streets. Peacefully, civically and legitimately. As we are doing today. In the face of the destabilisation and deterioration to which the institutions are being subjected, we are committed to strengthening them. In the face of the attempt to do away with the law, we are committed to guaranteeing it», he explained.
Finally, the President of the PP said that European democracy is at stake when Spanish democracy is in danger and affirmed that «the indignation we feel must become a clamour that can be heard throughout Spain and will reach all friendly democracies».
«They want our silence, but they will have a calm and firm response. We are convinced that Spanish democracy will prevail. One day history will tell that Spain stood up, with serenity and firmness, to say enough is enough and to defend equality among Spaniards. Spain does not surrender!», he concluded.
