The Albox municipality has already approved the accounts for the next financial year. The ordinary plenary session this Thursday has allowed the government team led by María del Mar Alfonso to approve the 2025 budget with nine votes in favour and three abstentions.
The Mayor said that the accounts “have been drawn up with technical rigour and are based on the belief that they will allow us to organise municipal management to improve services and the quality of life of the people of Albox”, said Alfonso, referring to accounts that “have a marked social character” and amount to 13,888,262 million euros, which represents an increase of 31.28% compared to last year’s budget. In the Mayor’s words, “thanks to the joint work of the government team and municipal workers to obtain subsidies from the different administrations”.
The real investment chapter grows by more than 500%, going from 481,153 euros last year to 3,154,126 euros in 2025. The Nursing Home worth 2.5 million to be financed with Next Generation Funds, the Las Pocicas Swimming Pool with 52,000 euros, the construction of two new niche pavilions in the Municipal Cemetery, the new Boulevard on Avenida 28 de Febrero or the revitalization of the Plaza de Abastos, among the most notable items.

Income from building permits is increasing in the municipality. According to the governing team, this reflects the good performance of the local economy from a commercial point of view, but also at the level of families.
More than one million euros will be used to pay interest and capital repayments on bank loans signed by previous governments, which represent almost 8% of the total budget. To this must be added 90,000 euros that the City Council will allocate to comply with three payment schedules for court rulings, “payment obligations that had been ignored by previous governments,” Navarro added.
As for expenses, the personnel section amounts to 5.4 million euros. And as for current expenses for goods and services, the governing team increases this item to 3.4 million euros for the general maintenance of the municipality and its projection, in addition to including all the associations and groups that will have greater municipal aid this year.
Albox’s budget for 2025 includes, for example, the purchase of a new vehicle for the Local Police, a Special Asphalt Plan of 100,000 euros that will allow for improvements to the roads in the Terdiguera Industrial Estate, improvements to parks and gardens, maintenance and upkeep of sports facilities. New items are created for the organisation of events on the occasion of the Holy Jubilee Year of the Saliente. A new item for the realisation of youth and children’s activities with 30,000 euros, the Municipal Toy Library will continue to grow with a municipal investment of 40,000 euros or the Book Fair that will celebrate its second edition with a budget of 15,000 euros.
The government team’s project for next year includes the fortieth anniversary of the emblematic Rock Albox, which will have a budget of 40,000 euros. «We promised that this anniversary would be celebrated with the importance it deserves and with this amount we will promote numerous activities throughout the year with the intention of highlighting our Rock Albox brand as one of the longest-running festivals in the country» assured the mayor, María del Mar Alfonso.
Sports events and activities, the Consumer Bonus Campaign will grow in 2025 to 50,000 euros and all the associations and brotherhoods of the town will see their municipal contribution increased. «These budgets are a clear commitment to the associations and clubs of the municipality, they are the great agents of the Albox society who will always find in our government team all the possible support» explains the mayor of Albox about budgets that will come into force next January.
