The spokesman for the Popular Party in the Zurgena Town Hall, Domingo Trabalón, has lamented the «lack of transparency» on the part of the PSOE government team after he registered a request at the Town Hall asking about the municipal vehicles and the fuel bills for each one of them and the mayor refused to provide the information, stating that he is not obliged to provide it because there is no detailed report on the matter.
Trabalón points out that the Socialist Party is spending money belonging to all the people of Zurbano and the residents and the opposition has the right to know how much the monthly bill amounts to in this type of expenditure as well as the people who use municipal vehicles to fill up, and therefore urges the mayor to reconsider and comply with the law because as he reminds him «from the PP all we are doing is exercising our opposition work always thinking about what is best for our town and monitoring the work of the government team, something we will continue to do even if it is not to the liking of the mayor».
The popular spokesman does not understand why the mayor refuses to let the opposition have knowledge of the entry register which reflects the refuelling of municipal vehicles from 31 May 2022 to 7 November, and wonders if «he has something to hide because some alleged irregularity is being committed».
Domingo Trabalón regrets the «obscurantism» in the Town Hall since Francisco Martínez has been mayor and assures that «despite the obstacles that the government team puts in our way on a daily basis, the PP will continue to oppose and denounce everything that the residents tell us». He also points out that he has already informed the PP’s legal services of this situation so that they can take action on the matter.
Finally, the Popular spokesman said that Zurgena has many needs and regrets the «parsimony» of the government team, which follows in the wake of the opposition, as happened when the Popular Party denounced the lack of pruning of palm trees and a few days later the PSOE took note and acted.
